1890 Antique Jas. W. Queen & Co. Philadelphia Brass Microscope, Box & Lenses
Let me start by saying I am not an expert on this or any microscope. The Microscope is not marked J Queen or with a model number. Some of the brass boxes (tubes) included are marked "QUEEN & Co PHILADA" & "J. W. Queen Phila". We believe that all of this belongs together (as we acquired it).
What is included in this listing.
- Brass and Iron claw foot microscope. Approximately 12" tall with a brass sub-stage mirror. Condition is excellent, iron parts have most if not all of the original Japanning. The brass parts have nearly all of the ordinal lacquer finish in tact.
- Mahogany box 12x6x4.5" in overall very good condition. Some cracking to top that looks to have been glued at some point in time. Shrinkage crack to the bottom. The box may have had some repairs/glue over it 130 year life but retains most of it's original finish/varnish and looks great. It has a pair of brass hinges and closure hooks.
- 4 cylindrical tube/jars. One has lenses on both ends and may be a hand held magnifier. The second is marked 2 inch on the end and holds an additional objective lens. The other two are are marked "QUEEN & Co PHILADA" & "J. W. Queen Phila" on the ends and are empty.
Please ask questions as we have done the best to describe it but are not experts.
