I am no expert but from close examination and comparative research and a little bit of family history, I think that this is an 1800s piece. This was in some of my Grandparents belongs (I am in my 60s) that have been sitting in a box for years.
Small double-draw “Spy Glass” telescope. It is made of brass and measures 7” when opened and 3” when closed. It is void of any markings, which is typical for the era.
The exterior is brass with a wood veneer.
