Knife Care and Cleaning: Damascus knife made of high-carbon steel and will rust if not dried and oiled after use. After using the knife, wash it with soap and water, dry it thoroughly, coat it with oil, and store it away from the sheath.
Leather absorb moisture from the air, and if a knife or blade is stored in a leather sheath for an extended period in a humid environment, it can lead to rusting. The moisture trapped in the leather can transfer to the blade, promoting oxidation and corrosion. To prevent this, it's important to:
- Store the knife in a dry place: Avoid high humidity areas.
- Remove the blade from the sheath if storing long-term: This reduces the risk of moisture buildup.
